While liposuction is continuously gaining in popularity, it is important to note that there is more than one liposuction method available. Just to give you an idea of the diversity of procedures, there is the ultrasonic liposuction, tumescent liposuction, water assisted liposuction, and power assisted liposuction methods. Keep in mind though, these are only a sampling of the many liposuction procedures available today.
As a result, we are going to discuss the ultrasonic liposuction procedure in this section. This procedure is used to remove fatty deposits that can not be eliminated via exercise. It is also worthy to note that liposuction is not designed to remove cellulite.
During the ultrasonic liposuction surgery, the surgeon uses a reed like device (a cannula) to melt the patient’s fat deposits. This is accomplished by using high pitched sound waves. These waves travel down the cannula and liquefy the fat when the cannula comes in contact with it. Then the surgeon uses the cannula to vacuum the fat out.
With ultrasonic liposuction, the surgeon can often remove fat from body parts that have traditionally been very difficult to operate on. Additionally, this technique can also produce a very contoured look with minimal complications. For further information, we recommend you visit the Liposuction Fort Worth Guide.
With that said, there are 3 main potential complications that could occur. The first (and least probable) is that the surgeon will cause tissue damage. This could occur if the surgeon administers too much ultrasonic energy or moves the cannula too slowly over your body.
The second serious complication that could occur is seroma. This condition occurs when a patient’s body begins to build up excess fluid in the voids created by the fat being removed.
The third situation that could occur is the patient could suffer burns and blistering. This condition could occur due to the heat that is generated by the liposuction equipment.
As we have demonstrated, ultrasonic liposuction is a great technique for removing unwanted pounds. However, even though this procedure is proven, there is always the possibility of complications developing.
