Some people get dry skin in the cold months. Others get dry skin all year round. No matter what the frequency of your dry skin, finding the best skin care products for your issue is important. You don’t want something that doesn’t work because it’s just being wasted, but you don’t want to forget about the issue and ‘deal with it’ altogether. Here are some skin care ideas for those with dry skin.
My favorite moisturizer for skin that I recommend for those with dry, sensitive, oily, or combination skin alike is aloe vera. It’s often overlooked as a moisturizer and strictly used for relieving sun burn. Aloe is very soothing and also has moisturizing and healing properties. Apply it to your skin in the morning to avoid getting shiny skin throughout the day. It also works great to moisturize your hair.
For a natural moisturizer that does a very good job at moisturizing, I recommend shea butter. It is extremely moisturizing and really soaks into dry skin. This is great to be used as a night cream. Slather it all over your face and rub it in well. It’s also great because it’s natural and usually won’t irritate your eyes, making it save to gently pat around the eyes and moisturize those areas. If you have combination skin, you may find this a little too strong.
Find a good light moisturizer for the day with SPF 15 or higher to protect against the sun. In order to manage a light day moisturizer and keep moist skin I suggest washing your face in the following way: Rinse your face well with warm water leaving the skin slightly wet. Take about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of honey and spread it over your face. Leave it on for 10 minutes or as long as you can. Rinse it away. Honey is a great moisturizer but will leave your face sticky if you use it like a moisturizer.
