When summer time is just a few months away, does your attention turn to the lump and bumps that are on your thighs and legs? Just the thought of a swimsuit can make any woman cringe when they have cellulite to contend with. When you are wanting to look your best, cellulite is an unwelcome guest and many women are desperately searching for a cure for the condition.
So what is cellulite and how can your get rid of it?
Women’s bodies store fat in a honeycomb like structure which is made up of tiny pockets of fat panels. When there is excess fat, the fat protrudes from the top of the honeycomb and pushes up against the skin above. The result is the orange peel look of cellulite on the outside of the skin.
As far as natural treatments go, coffee and seaweed are the most recommended. They are believed to help you body eliminate fat from the body. But before you go to take the coffee out from the cupboard or go down to the beach to collect seaweed, you should know that there are specially compounded creams that have these ingredients already made up for. These cellulite creams need to be applied twice per day and should be massaged into the skin.
Tri-Active is a relatively new treatment which uses a machine to provide suction massage. The suction promotes lymphatic drainage and this helps the body to drain fluid from inside the fat cells. A laser is also used to increase collagen and to tighten the skin. This is an expensive treatment with the 8 required sessions costing over $1000.
Another machine is Velasmooth. This utilizes radio frequency and an infra-red laser to soften up the fat. Suction is combined with the laser and radio waves to stretch the subcutaneous fibers that cause the lumps and bumps. Like Tri-Active, this isn’t a cheap treatment with each session costing over $100.
These three treatment options can reduce the appearance of cellulite by about 60 to 80 per cent. You can see further results by combining them with a healthy diet and exercise.
