Everyone should take a CPR class as you never know when these lifesaving skills will be needed. It doesn’t take that long to pass the certification process. Did you know that about 70% of people who suffer a cardiac arrest when not in a hospital or a medical facility won’t survive? Those that do could suffer permanent brain damage. The sad thing is that many of these fatalities could be avoided if someone had started cardiac pulmonary massage.

How do you know when someone has suffered a cardiac arrest? In the films the actor tends to grab their chest while they sink dramatically to the floor. In real life, it is unlikely to be so obvious. The person may lose consciousness but some people will assume they have fainted. They will probably stop or appear to have stopped breathing. Usually a cardiac arrest comes on very suddenly and with little warning. The patient has the best chance of survival if somebody qualified uses an AED device very quickly. If no defibrillator is available, starting CPR is the next best thing to do.

When you have passed your CPR exam, you will know exactly how to perform the steps involved in the CPR process. If possible someone should call 911 while you assist the casualty. If you are on your own, then it is best to start CPR first before you call the emergency services. Every second counts and it is imperative that you maintain a calm composure and react professionally. Some people are concerned that they will inflict more damage to the victim while trying to help them. Generally this is not an issue. The best AED devices are programed to check the patient’s vital statistics before administering an electric shock. Remember the person is very likely to die if you do not start CPR as soon as possible after they first suffer the cardiac arrest. So get your CPR certification now and be ready to help if required.

A certified nursing assistant is usually the first person a patient sees. They are responsible for a variety of tasks including documenting a patient’s vital signs and in some cases assisting the doctor in some medical procedures. They are also responsible for feeding patients and lifting and transporting them to different departments within the medical facility. This job requires a special type of person who is capable of being compassionate and has a real heart for helping others. Below are three compelling reasons to take certified nursing assistant classes.

Reason #1 is endless job opportunities. The demand for qualified nursing staff is steadily increasing. With more and more baby boomers being hospitalized or placed in nursing facilities the need for help has doubled. Individuals who are interested in the nursing field will have a greater opportunity to obtain gainful employment after completing certified nursing assistant classes. Job opportunities are available in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and clinics.

healthnet federal credit routing code

Reason #2 is faster graduation completion. Individuals looking to start working as a nursing assistant will be pleased with how quickly they graduate. Most classes are between a six to eight weeks and can be completed through a state approved nursing facility or through a local community college. With such a short learning period students can become certified sooner and land a job in a medical facility.

Reason #3 is all about earning potential. Prospective students who take certified nursing assistant classes can increase their income considerably. Many companies recognize how important CNA’s are to the overall operation of the medical facility. These companies offer competitive wages and incredible incentives for their nursing staff. Individuals who are certified also make higher earnings upon entering the field than non-certified individuals. This means more starting pay for the same work. Pay also increases with experience making higher earnings a big possibility over time.

If you’re thinking about taking CNA classes online in this article you can find useful information about this topic. CNA classes on line are helpful for people with a busy agenda, or are not able for some reason to enroll in on-campus CNA courses. If you choose CNA classes online you can study to become

healthnet federal credit routing code

CNA while keeping your job or other activities. Furthermore, CNA courses online give you the opportunity to schedule your classes in a flexible way and therefore study whenever it’s more convenient for you. Before deciding to go for a CNA online program, anyway, pay attention to this factors you should consider.

Taking CNA classes online is not as easy at it seems. You’re betting on your future and your choice should be carefully thought. The choice of the school where to enroll in, for example, is one of the most important points to look at. It’s imperative that you enroll in an accredited school recognized for the quality of its education. Check with the NLNAC (National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission) if the school of your choice is an accredited one and change it if not.

Carefully avoid non accredited schools because after completion of the course, as the school is not recognized your effort are going to be wasted and you won’t be able to take the state exam to become a CNA. So, make sure the school is accredited.

Also, each state has minimum requirements set that the CNA classes online program of a school must meet. If it doesn’t, the completion of the course won’t make you eligible to take the CNA exam. Each state has its own requirements, make sure to check which one are required in the state you residence is in and/or where you’re going to practice as a CNA.

CNA classes online are indeed an effective way to start working in the healthcare field, but as it happens with CNA on-campus classes, pay attention to the school you’re going to enroll in and go for nothing less than accredited and well known schools, able to provide you top education and knowledge.

There are many careers available in the realm of nursing. The highest form of a nurse is the RN with the lowest being a CNA. There are other different nurse types which fit into the middle area as well. They are the same thing, but often called something different depending on where you live. Here is a summary of a few of the nursing titles and a little about what they do:

Registered Nurse (RN)

The RN is a Registered Nurse who is very knowledgeable and informative in their area of expertise. They work under a doctor and are a support to a physician in their line of work. An RN may delegate work to an RPN, an RNA or a CNA. They oversee the medical care provided by the nursing staff. As it relates to patient care, the RN is responsible to contribute to identifying patient’s needs, respond to emergency situations, administer medications prescribed by the physician, reporting significant changes in a patient’s health, as well as providing overall care in assisting the physicians.

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA)

The RPN or LPN answers to the RN and is responsible and accountable for all the tasks assigned to them.

healthnet federal credit routing code

They are expected to respond to emergency situations as they arise and provide assistance, record and observe aspects of a patient’s care and report significant changes. The RPN must also have abilities in decontaminating and sterilizing equipment.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The CNA is the lower end of the totem pole when it comes to the nursing profession. The CNA provides care as it relates to patient’s needs such as: changing bed linens, transporting patients in wheelchairs or rolling beds, turning patients in their beds to prevent bed sores, changing dressings, preparing a patient for surgery, observing and reporting on vital signs, and providing help in exercise.

Many people decide to chose nursing for their career because nurses are in demand right now, and the pay is good. If you are considering being a nurse as your profession, it is vital to know the different educational criteria that are required to become validated, registered, and certified.

First, you have to have a high school diploma, to even be accepted to any nursing program, or school. Some nursing schools require a pre-admission test, as well. Generally, a person begins by seeking a credited school to obtain their Bachelor of Science nursing, or associates degree. A bachelor degree for nursing takes four years of schooling to get, and an associate is a shorter program and takes two to three years to complete.

An associate’s degree focuses on the essentials of nursing. This degree can be achieved at specialty schools, and community colleges. Red Cross CNA training is also another option.

healthnet federal credit routing code

It trains individuals who are pursuing a nursing career to provide patient care in variable settings. It can be also utilized for furthering an education to a Bachelors degree. You can become an RN, LPN, or LVN through this specific education; however, you still must become registered to be fully qualified for any of these job categories. A bachelor’s degree is an advanced educational program. Jobs that entail this qualification are usually well paid, and specialized nursing positions such as a nurse educator, a public health nurse, a military nurse, and a forensic nurse.

Every nurse has to be qualified to seek a nursing position not only by having an adequate degree, but also by passing the necessary steps to become certified and registered. The licensure

test and requirements vary from state to state, and an individual has to be licensed in the state that they are going to practice in. The two main tests are the NCLEX-RN or the NCLEX-PN. Usually, there is a fee you pay to take these tests, and you only have a number of attempts of passing or else you forfeit your opportunity. There are many specialized certifications that nurses can get, these are sub categories similar to that of physicians. For example, a physician is a podiatrist, then he specializes in feet. Nurses can be the same, and the pay rate usually increases.

There is much other advancement that nurses can make by continuing their education. Each degree makes a grave difference in their skill requirements, and their pay rate. These degrees are such, doctoral, master’s, and post doctors. As a person obtains more degrees, the nursing jobs that they seek will get more technical. It is clear that there is so much room for advancement in nursing, but it is apparently logical to start at the basics.
